    The PEA Forums

The PEA holds a number of workshop meetings during the year, details of which can be viewed in the forum areas of this website. There are 3 R&D meetings per year, at least one full day meeting of each technology forum per year and an annual technology workshop on a specific topic – e.g. Production Chemistry Workshop in 2004.

Generally, meetings are open to members, other operators evaluating the benefits of membership and invited R&D suppliers. Suppliers should contact the secretariat if they feel they have something to contribute to any of the forthcoming PEA events – (please see the R&D Suppliers part of this website to register and submit a research abstract).

    Main R&D meetings incorporate:

    • Screened (by the committee), innovative and relevant R&D proposal presentations from the supplier community
    • Ongoing technology project update presentations
    • Technology forums update and main lessons learnt
    • R&D strategy presentations
    • Discussions and presentations on PEA organisation and direction

    Technology forum meetings incorporate:

    • Operator case history presentations
    • Round table discussions on future technology strategies, technology priorities or particular technology related high level concerns (e.g. the benefits of sand management versus sand control)
    • R&D supplier case history and technology update presentations
    • R&D proposals

Operator members are encouraged to suggest topics and themes – particularly for forthcoming workshops but also for annual workshops – at any time.

The PEA is funded by a Technology Transfer JIP (joint industry project), which operators sign up to in order to join the Association. This is managed by OTM Consulting Ltd (OTM) which provides a secretariat function, the organisation of meetings, this Website and any ad-hoc studies or activities that the PEA wishes to undertake.

The membership together comprises of a steering group, which can vote on the direction and activities of the PEA. An elected committee provides the day to day supervision of the Association via guidance to OTM, screening of R&D proposals and recommendations to the steering group with respect to expenditure and PEA strategy.
